Hey everyone….It’s hard to believe that we came together over two years ago to develop a ground person/ spotter training program. We were able to roll the “train the Trainer” program out at the Michigan Safety Conference and the original ground person video production was funded by Ford,with Walbridge providing the equipment and personnel. An industry version, with contributions from Walbridge, Barton Malow, Aristeo, Christman, and Rudolph Libbe was also made. I included the link and the video is free for everyone’s use

Now it’s time to get the team together again for round 2….Recently there has been a developing trend in injuries to MEWP operators and ground persons. Some could have easily become fatalities. Doug Heins from GM sent me some Best Practices centered around the new ANSI Standard (attached) and I have spent some time discussing trends with Steve Wozniak and Dave Lerner. Also attached is a rescue plan from Genie contributed by Steve.
I’d like to propose that we reunite to identify trends and brainstorm some solutions that we can share with all. I will be sending out an invite in the next few days ans am looking forward to working with all of you again…Thanks everyone, Doug
